Building Resilience in Pre school Children (Using Oh Lila)

Oh Lila TrainingAlcohol Focus Scotland has developed a half day learning opportunity to support those working in nurseries, family learning centres, early years establishments and other practitioners working with children and families to use the Oh Lila resource.

Learning Outcomes

On completing training learners will:

  • Have enhanced awareness and understanding of the problems caused by alcohol in Scotland.
  • Be more aware of early years policies and strategies.
  • Have a better understanding of resilience and how the Oh Lila resource can be used to build protective factors.
  • Feel more confident to use the resource across the curriculum.
  • Be more confident to manage disclosures from children.
  • Be more aware of the support available for children and families.

Alcohol Focus Scotland recommends a minimum of 2 practitioners from each organisation attend training.

Some local authority areas have received funding to Rory Photo Aberlour 2provide nurseries with access to free training.

Oh Lila is now being used in Glasgow City, North Ayrshire, South Ayrshire, West Lothian, East Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde, West Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire.
